2013 Acura RDX Review

2013 Acura RDX is the second generation of the Acura Crossover SUV, with a new approach to achieve maximum performance and fuel efficiency through new engine, transmission, and all-wheel drive system. 2013 RDX using 4-wheel independent suspension with MacPherson strut front and the design of multi-link rear suspension. With a longer wheelbase, wider track and low center of gravity that provides the foundation for the new RDX with the handler and quality that much improved. The new chassis technology for 2013 including the Acura-exclusive Amplitude Reactive Dampers and a new Motion Adaptive Electric Power Steering system that replaces the previous hydraulic steering. 2013 Acura RDX will be available in front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.

Replacement of the turbocharged 2.3-liter inline four-cylinder used in the previous RDX, 2013 Acura RDX currently has standard equipment 3.5-liter V6 engine that can produce approximately 273 hp. For higher performance and increased fuel economy, Acura RDX utilizing new six-speed automatic transmission with a new lock-up torque converter. The RDX also gets a new, lighter weight all-wheel-drive system that provides outstanding performance and safety with increased efficiency to achieve higher fuel economy.

With EPA estimates on the city / highway, fuel ratings of 20/28 mpg, the version of front-wheel-drive of the Acura RDX 2013 is expected to provide the best fuel economy of any gasoline-powered V6 luxury SUV in the class. All-wheel-drive models will deliver an EPA estimated city/highway fuel economy of 19/27 mpg.

The 2013 Acura RDX will receive a new technologies including Pandora® internet radio interface, a Keyless Access System with smart entry and pushbutton start, SMS feature and a three view rear camera. An available Technology Package will provide a full complement of relevant technologies, including an Acura ELS Surround® audio system, Acura Navigation System with Voice Recognition, AcuraLink Real-Time Traffic with Traffic Rerouting, AcuraLink® Satellite Communication System, and AcuraLink Real-Time Weather with radar image maps.
